What decides a metal building scope.
These buildings vary far more than houses do. The use of the building changes the answer as much as its size.
The panel and its condition
Existing coatings, oil, dust or rust all affect adhesion, and all of them get dealt with before we spray.
Humidity sources inside
Vehicles, livestock, washing, welding and open ground all add moisture to the air. Insulation alone does not remove a humidity source.

The things owners usually want settled before they book an estimate.
Why does my metal building drip inside?
Because warm, moist air inside is meeting cold steel, and the moisture condenses on the panel. It looks like a leak and it is not one. Insulating the panel surface stops the warm air reaching the cold steel, which is why spray foam is the common answer in these buildings.
Can you spray foam directly onto metal panels?
Yes, and adhesion is usually good, but the panel has to be prepared. Oil, dust, loose coatings and rust all have to be dealt with first, and that assessment is part of the estimate rather than a surprise on the day.
Will it make the building usable year round?
It changes the envelope, which is the part we control. Whether the building becomes comfortable year round also depends on the heating or cooling you put in and on the humidity sources inside it. We will be straight about which part is ours.
Do you insulate pole barns as well as steel buildings?
Yes. Pole barns, shops, workshops, agricultural buildings and outbuildings are regular work for both crews. The building's use drives the specification more than its construction type does.
How much does it cost to insulate a metal building?
It moves with the size, the height, the panel condition, the access and the thickness the use calls for. We quote it after walking the building. A rate per square foot from a web page would not survive contact with your actual building.
